Heavy Multi-Tree Removal on 194th Street, Osceola, WI
Backyard Oak Thinning, Front Yard Pine Clearing, Full Site Cleanup
Out on 194th Street in Osceola, the thick timber and rolling wooded lots give the whole neighborhood that classic, secluded St. Croix County feel. When I pulled up to Jestina and Steve’s place, it was clear they had a fantastic property, but the trees had simply gotten out of hand over the years. We were looking at a dense stand of oaks crowding the back yard and several overgrown pines leaning toward the driveway and front lawn that were blocking sunlight and posing future storm hazards.
This was a major property overhaul that called for a well-coordinated plan to remove ten Oaks (Quercus spp.) and five Pines (Pinus spp.). In the backyard, seven smaller oaks and three larger central hardwoods were choking out the lawn and competing heavily for canopy space. Out front, four declining pines near the house and wood pile needed to come down completely, while one smaller pine near the top of the driveway just needed to be safely directional-dropped into the woods. Protecting the home, driveway, and surrounding turf required a disciplined tree removal approach from start to finish.
To get all fifteen trees down without turning the lawn into a muddy mess, our crew brought out our SD 64 man lift, which rides on wide, low-impact turf tires that spread machine weight evenly across the grass. Overhead access allowed the guys to systematically limb the larger central oaks and front pines piece by piece before lowering heavy sections to the ground. Our tracked skid steer with a grapple bucket moved right behind the saws, picking up logs and brush immediately so nothing sat on the turf or damaged the landscape.
Once every target tree was down and flush-cut as low to the ground as possible, our grapple truck backed into position to load up the mountain of timber and pine brush. The crew raked through the entire back lot, blew off the driveway, and made sure there wasn’t a single stray branch left behind. Jestina and Steve ended up with a gorgeous, wide-open yard that’s completely safe and ready for summer outdoor living.
