Crane-Assisted Storm Damage Removal on 233rd Street, Osceola, WI
Emergency Roof Clearance, Heavy Crane Rigging, Low-Impact Lawn Protection
Out on 233rd Street in Osceola, the thick, mature timber is a big part of what makes these St. Croix County properties so incredible, but summer storms around here can turn tall hardwoods into immediate trouble. When severe weather blew through the area, Pat ended up with a high-stakes emergency right on top of the house. We got the call for immediate assistance and headed straight out to evaluate the hazard, get a safety plan together, and protect the home before any further damage could occur.
A massive Red Oak had taken a direct hit from the storm, snapping a heavy limb that landed flat against the roofline. You couldn’t just climb up there with a chainsaw and start cutting without risking serious structural collapse or crushing the shingles and rafters underneath. Tanner inspected the setup and determined that the entire oak needed to come down to safely pick that crushing weight off the structure. We mapped out a precise tree removal strategy designed to lift the pressure off the roof without putting an ounce of extra stress on the house.
To handle a high-risk pick like this, we brought out our 55-ton crane alongside our Nifty Lift SD 64 man lift. Staged safely on the driveway, the crane operator boomed way up over the residence, locking onto the storm-damaged limb before our crew made the cut. The crane lifted the massive oak section straight up into the air and floated it cleanly away from the roofline. On the ground, we kept our man lift on wide turf tires and ran our tracked skid steer with rubber tracks, ensuring we didn’t leave ruts or tear up Pat’s lawn while moving heavy timber to the street.
Once the roof was completely cleared and the rest of the oak was systematically dismantled, our crew processed all the brush through the chipper and loaded the heavy trunk logs straight into our main grapple truck. We raked down the lawn, blew off the driveway, and checked the gutters so not a single leaf or stray stick was left behind. Seeing Pat’s home completely safe and structurally sound after such a wild storm made the entire emergency effort worth it.
