Description
The Meyer Spruce is a dense, pyramid-shaped evergreen with a prominent central leader, offering a refined presence in the landscape.
It’s more tolerant of humid summers than the Colorado Blue Spruce, making it less susceptible to fungal issues. While its average texture blends well, you can enhance its visual impact by pairing it with plants of finer or coarser textures.
This tree requires regular care and upkeep. When pruning, it’s best to trim only the current season’s new growth, aside from removing any dead branches. Deer typically avoid the Meyer Spruce, preferring other plants. It has no significant drawbacks.
The Meyer Spruce is an excellent choice for various landscape uses, including:
- Accents
- Vertical Accents
- Windbreaks and Shelterbelts
