As long as you keep the bag filled according to our seasonal care guide and keep the tree safe from external hazards, we’ve got your back for a full 5 years.

If an eligible tree dies within 5 years of planting, we will provide a 100% complimentary replacement tree, from our Strong Start collection, of equal or lesser value.

5-Year Warranty Terms & Exclusions

The Fine Print

Every tree is a living organism dependent on post-planting care, environmental conditions, and property maintenance. Our 5-Year Strong Start Warranty is governed strictly by the following terms (click to open):

Scope of Remedy

Tree Material & Replacement Cost: The warranty covers 100% of the cost of the replacement tree material (of equal or lesser value/size to the original purchase) and labor and equipment costs for replacement.
One-Time Limit: This warranty allows for a one-time replacement per tree purchased. The 5-year warranty clock begins on the original installation date and does not reset or extend upon the planting of a replacement tree.

Mandatory Care & Objective Testing

Watering Bag Requirement: The homeowner must continuously utilize the provided slow-release watering bag during the tree’s active growing seasons (Spring through Fall) for the first 6 months of the first full growing season.
Soil Moisture Verification: In the event of a warranty claim, a representative from our company will inspect the tree and test the surrounding soil using an electronic soil moisture meter. If the meter indicates that the soil moisture levels are critically too high (overwatered/drowning) or critically too low (underwatered/drought-stressed) compared to standard arboricultural thresholds for that species, the warranty is void.

Explicit Warranty Exclusions

The 5-year warranty strictly applies to natural failure to thrive under proper care. It does not cover tree death or decline resulting from:

Unlisted Species: Any tree species planted by our team that is not explicitly named on the eligible list above is subject only to our standard 1-year warranty.
Chemical Drift: Damage, defoliation, or systemic poisoning caused by chemical drift, herbicide misapplication, or fertilizer burn from third-party lawn care companies, neighbors, or the homeowner.
Mechanical Damage: Physical wounds to the trunk or root system caused by lawnmowers, weed whackers, construction equipment, or construction grading.
Wildlife and Pest Damage: Trunk girdling, bark stripping, or structural failure caused by wildlife (e.g., deer buck-rub, rodent chewing, boring insects), as well as damage from domestic pets.
Acts of God: Extreme weather events including, but not limited to, tornadoes, lightning strikes, severe ice storms, unprecedented flooding, or unseasonal hard freezes (frost cracking) that occur after the tree has successfully established.

I repeated my requests several times but apparently that wasnt important wnough to put in the notes. -1 I asked for the stump to be left for sitting on, but they cut it down to less than 6 inches. -1 I also asked them to use the tarp, I bought specificallu for this job, to place the chips.
